Crochet slippers pattern

It’s one of my favorite patterns since summer, so I reintroduced it with new autumn features!

This Crochet pullover is light in all four seasons and looks very beautiful from summer to autumn. I like to wear shorts all summer, but during those unforeseen transitional periods, this is a good addition (do we need a vest or a coat? In autumn, the answer is usually these two ..

It means that if you’ve never worked a sweater before, well this is your ideal crochet sweater project to begin with, there is no increases or decreases or anything fancy and complicated in  it.The only thing you should know are the the single and half double crochet as i said before, how to make rectangles and seaming !

This pattern explain the S size and explain also how to take measurments to adapt it to any size

The great thing with this sweater is that you can wear it the last summer days,in spring and even in the cold days .
So let’s start our easy crochet sweater free pattern :

To Sum it up,  this crochet pullover is a slightly fitted raglan sweater with open window stitches to maintain comfort and breathability in all four seasons. This pullover has a minimal shape and an easy-to-seamless structure, making it ideal for those who are trying to sew raglan for the first time.

Materials :

  • 300 gr of DK worsted yarn (weight 4)
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • 5.5 mm crochet hook
  • yarn needle
  • scissors

Notes :

– It consists on working 2 rectangles big for the front and the back and 2 other small rectangles for the sleeves
– For this pattern we are crocheting the  S size, but i will show you how to adapt this sweater to any size.
For that, we will just need to take the measurments first so take your favorite sweater or shirt and measure the following :
1- The length that goes from the shoulders to the waist,
 2- The width of sweater
3- The length and the width of the sleeves

Finished size ( for size S) :

 Front & Back  Rectangles : 48 cm long / 44 cm wide
Sleeves Rectangles : 40 cm long / 25 cm wide

Let’s begin our easy crochet sweater pattern !

Crochet sweater free pattern :

Front and Back Rectangles :

  • Start with a chain of an odd number (for size S i worked 51 ch )
  • R1 : Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc across row, ch 2 (does count as a st), turn ( total of 50 )
  • R2 : In the 4 th from the hook,* (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in the same st, skip 1*, repeat from * to * acroos the row.
  • HDC in the last st, ch 2, turn.
  • R3 : Repeat the same sequence  working in the (hdc, ch 1, hdc) spaces accross the row, 1 hdc in the last st, ch 2, turn .
  • Repeat R2 and R3 until you get the length measurment that you want ( for size S / 40 rows for the front and back rectangles)

Sleeves Rectangles :

For the sleeves, we will first use the 4 mm crochet, for almost the 3 first quarters of the length ( about 20 rows for size S) then continue with a 5,5 mm crochet hook for the the other rows to get the narrow effect without using any decreases.
  • Starting with an odd number here again ( wil depend on the width that you want) for size S : 31 ch
  • R1 : Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc across row, ch 2 (does count as a st), turn ( total of 30 )
  • R2 : In the 4 th from the hook,* (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in the same st, skip 1*, repeat from * to * acroos the row.
  • HDC in the last st, ch 2, turn.
  • R3 : Repeat the same sequence  working in the (hdc, ch 1, hdc) spaces accross the row, 1 hdc in the last st, ch 2, turn .
  • Repeat R2 and R3 until you get the length measurment that you want (for size S: 34 rows), and don’t forget to switch the crochet when you finish the 3 first quarters of the sleeve’s length .
Here are our rectangles, sew to close the sleeves.

Lay up the 2 big rectangles, with the wrong side facing you, sew the shoulders part leaving the middle opened, then skip the shoulders/ armhole open (about 6 groups of (hdc, ch1, hdc)) continue sewing the both sideways.

Sleeves :

The little tip here is to put the whole sleeve (with right side outside), inside the armhole and match the top of the sleeve with the opened part that we left on front/back piece of the sweater,
Then match the suture or the joigning part of the sleep with down part of the armhole, stretch it a tiny bit then sew ( see pic below)

Optional :

You can add an edging with sc or sl st around the neck part and the sleeves or ribbing
This video will help you do it

Don’t forget to secure and weave all ends.

And that’s it, i hope you enjoy making this sweater !
