Today we’re learning together how to crochet sweaters, i found this easy level pattern in spanish designed by Las Varetas Crochet ByGuala where only the basic stitches are involved : Single Crochet and Half double crochet.
It means that if you’ve never worked a sweater before, well this is your ideal crochet sweater project to begin with, there is no increases or decreases or anything fancy and complicated in it.The only thing you should know are the the single and half double crochet as i said before, how to make rectangles and seaming !
This pattern explain the S size and explain also how to take measurments to adapt it to any size
The great thing with this sweater is that you can wear it the last summer days,in spring and even in the cold days .
So let’s start our easy crochet sweater free pattern :
To Sum it up, this crochet pullover is a slightly fitted raglan sweater with open window stitches to maintain comfort and breathability in all four seasons. This pullover has a minimal shape and an easy-to-seamless structure, making it ideal for those who are trying to sew raglan for the first time.
Materials :
- 300 gr of DK worsted yarn (weight 4)
- 4.5 mm crochet hook
- 5.5 mm crochet hook
- yarn needle
- scissors

Crochet sweater free pattern :
Front and Back Rectangles :
- Start with a chain of an odd number (for size S i worked 51 ch )
- R1 : Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc across row, ch 2 (does count as a st), turn ( total of 50 )
- R2 : In the 4 th from the hook,* (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in the same st, skip 1*, repeat from * to * acroos the row.
- HDC in the last st, ch 2, turn.
- R3 : Repeat the same sequence working in the (hdc, ch 1, hdc) spaces accross the row, 1 hdc in the last st, ch 2, turn .
- Repeat R2 and R3 until you get the length measurment that you want ( for size S / 40 rows for the front and back rectangles)
Sleeves Rectangles :
- Starting with an odd number here again ( wil depend on the width that you want) for size S : 31 ch
- R1 : Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc across row, ch 2 (does count as a st), turn ( total of 30 )
- R2 : In the 4 th from the hook,* (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in the same st, skip 1*, repeat from * to * acroos the row.
- HDC in the last st, ch 2, turn.
- R3 : Repeat the same sequence working in the (hdc, ch 1, hdc) spaces accross the row, 1 hdc in the last st, ch 2, turn .
- Repeat R2 and R3 until you get the length measurment that you want (for size S: 34 rows), and don’t forget to switch the crochet when you finish the 3 first quarters of the sleeve’s length .
