Welcome to Crochet by Mery, today I’m going to share with you an elegant crochet shawl free pattern translated from the Turkish Hobi Muhendisi channel which features a lot of shawl and crochet stitch tutorials.

Material :
- Alize Angora Gold Simli yarn (mix of mohair and acrylic) fine, 100 gr / 500 m, color chosen in the photo : 295
- You will need 200 gr for a large shawl.
- Hook 2.00 mm
Stitches :
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch = mc
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- puff stitch = puf st
- sp = space
Elegant crochet shawl free pattern
- Chain 9
- R1 : make a loop by inserting your hook in the last ch and close with 1 sl st, then ch 1 (do not tighten it, pull upwards so that it is long enough).
- R2 : Make a puff stitch, ch 2, 1 puff stitch, ch 5, 1 puff stitch, ch2 , 1 puff stitch. turn
- R3: 1 sl st in the first sp of 2 ch of R2, 1 puff stitch, ch 2, 1 puff stitch, 3 ch
- In the space of 5 ch of R2, make 3 dc, 3 ch.
- In the last sp of the 2 ch of R2, * repeat, 1 puff stitch, ch 2, 1 puff stitch * this repeat will be called puff edge.
- R4: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 3 BPdc in first dc of 3 dc in R3. 2 ch, 3 dc in relief from behind in the 3 rd dc of the 3 dc in R3 , ch 3 , edged puff.
- R5: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 BPdc in each of the 3 raised dc from the previous row (1st group), ch 3 , 1 dc in the middle space, ch 3 ,1 dc in relief from the front in each of the 3 dc in relief from the previous row (2nd group), 3 ch, finish with a puff edge.
- R6: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 BPdc in each of the 3 dc in R5.
- 3 ch, 1 sc in the 2 nd ch of the following space, 5 ch, 1 dc in the 2 nd ch of the following space, 1 dc in relief from behind in each of the 3 dc of R5 (2nd group ).
- ch 3, edged puff
- R7: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc in R6.
- ch 2 , 10 dc in the following space, ch 2 .
- 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc in R6, then finish with a puff edge.
- R8: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 BPdc in each of the 3 dc in R7, ch 2.
- 1 puff stitch in the first dc (of the group of 10), do not finish it with 1 ch, continue by making a yarn over and then stitching in the following stitch, make a puff stitch again, keeping all the loops on the crochet, then there make 1 ch to finish the 2 puff points together, this will give the effect of a big puff, 2 ch * repeat 5 times, you will get 5 big puff stitches for this step and spaces between them 2 ch each time.
- After the last big puff make 2 ch, 1 BPdc in each of the 3 dc of R7, ch 2, edge puff.
- R9: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc in R8, ch 3.
- 3 sc in the first space, 3 sc in the 2 nd space, 1 sc in the ch of the middle large puff, 3 sc in each of the 2 spaces that follow. [You should have 13 sc in total]
- Ch 3, 1 FPdc in each of 3 dc in R8, puff edge.
- R10: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 3 BPdc in 1st dc, ch 3.
- 3 dc in relief from behind in the 3 rd dc, 4 ch.
- Skip the first stitch, and do 11 sc then leave the last stitch unworked.
- Ch 4, 3 BPdc in the following dc, ch 3.
- 3 BPdc in last dc, puff edge.
- R11: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc.
- Ch 3 , 1 dc in the middle of the sp, Ch 3 .
- 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc in relief from the previous row (2nd group), 4 ch
- Skip the first stitch, and do 9 sc then leave the last stitch unworked.
- 4 ch, 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc in relief from the previous row (2nd group); ch 3
- 1 dc in the middle of the sp, ch 3 .
- 1 FPdc in each of 3 dc, ch 3, puff edge.
- R12: 1 sl st, puff edge, 1 BPdc in each of the next 3 dc.
- 3 ch, 1 sc in the 2 nd ch of the following space, 5 ch, 1 dc in the 2 nd ch of the following space, 3 ch, 1 BPdc in each of the 3 dc of R11 (2nd group).
- Ch 3, Skip the first stitch, and do 7 sc then leave the last stitch unworked.
- 3 ch, 1 BPdc in each of the next 3 dc, 3 ch, 1 dc in the 2 nd ch of the following space, 5 ch, 1 dc in the 2 nd ch of the following space, ch 3 .
- 1 BPdc in each of 3 dc, puff edge.
- R13: 1 sl st, puff edge, 1 FPdc in each of the next 3 dc, 2 ch, 10 dc in the following space, 2 ch.
- 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc
- Ch 3, Skip 2 stitches, and do 3 sc then leave the last 2 stitches unworked.
- Ch 3, 1 FPdc in each of the 3 dc.
- 2 ch, 10 dc in the next space, 2 ch.
- 1 FPdc in each of the next 3 dc, puff edge.
- R14: 1 sl st, puff edge, 1 BPdc in each of the next 3 dc, ch 2.
- 1 puff stitch in the first dc (of the group of 10), do not finish it with 1 ch, continue by making a yarn over and then stitching in the following stitch, make a puff stitch again, keeping all the loops on the crochet, then there make 1 ch to complete the 2 puff stitches together, it will give effect of a single large puff, ch 2 * repeat 5 times, you will get 5 large puff stitches for this step and spaces by 2 ch each time.
- 2 ch, 1 BPdc in each of the next 3 dc, 3 ch
- 1 dc in 3rd dc in R13, ch 3, 1 BPdc in each of the next 3 dc, ch 2 Repeat the 5 puff stitches between * *

- R17: 1 sl st, puff edge, ch 3, 1 FPdc in each of the next 3 dc, ch 4, Skip the first stitch, and do 9 sc then leave the last stitch unworked, 4 ch,
- 1 FPdc in each of the next 3 dc, ch 3, 1 dc in the middle of the next space, ch 3.
- 1 FPdc in each of the next 3 dc, ch 4, skip the first stitch, and do 9 sc then leave the last stitch unworked, ch 4,
- 1 FPdc in each of the next 3 dc, ch 3, puff edge.
Keep working in the same way, repeating the steps to make units on each side {starting at R4} until you get the desired length and width.
