easy crochet plaid pillow free pattern for beginners

Welcome to our crochet corner, where creativity meets comfort! Dive into the world of crochet with our Easy Plaid Pillow Crochet Pattern. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, this pattern is perfect for adding a cozy touch to your home decor. Let’s get started on your crafting journey!

Plaid patterns, formed by the convergence of multiple shades, create a checkered appearance when crocheted. They are commonly used in making shawls, pillows, blankets, scarves, bags, as well as plain-style cardigans, sweaters, and blouses. They can be easily incorporated into crochet projects.

Materials:

  • 1 of each skein of Yellow , light Gray, dark gray , white yarn.
  • 3 mm crochet hook

Instructions:

The following instructions are for making a pillow with dimensions of 40×30. Adjust the number of chains and rows if you want to make a different size.

  1. The yarn consists of 6 colors. Therefore, chain enough stitches for each color to be repeated twice.

    *It results in 112 chains.

NOTE: In the even-numbered rows on the outer side of the pillow (2, 4, 6, 8..), for example; if there are 3 whites, in the next even row, whites decrease to 2, and in the next even row after that, they decrease to 1. After dropping to 1, they increase to 2 in the next even-numbered rows, and then to 3.

This formula continues until the end of the crochet.

The colors continuously shift diagonally.

More explanations :

  1. We start by making the foundation chain. To do this, start by chaining 112 stitches. Each color in your yarn will be repeated twice in the pattern.
  2. In the first row, we’ll create a foundation row without worrying about the colors. Work a single crochet into the second chain from the hook, and continue single crocheting across the row. Remember to chain 2 at the end of the row and turn your work.
  3. Now, we’ll start incorporating the colors to create the plaid pattern. Follow the color sequence provided in the instructions. For example, work 5 single crochets with the light gray yarn, followed by 6 single crochets with the dark gray yarn, and so on. Remember to chain 2 and turn your work at the end of each row.
  4. Continue working rows, alternating between colors according to the pattern provided. Remember to chain 2 and turn your work at the end of each row.
  5. As you progress, you’ll notice the plaid pattern emerging! Keep following the color sequence and working rows until your pillow reaches the desired size.
  6. Once you’ve completed all the rows, fasten off your yarn and weave in any loose ends.
  7. Finally, fold your crocheted piece in half with the right sides together and use a yarn needle and matching yarn to sew the side seams together, leaving an opening for stuffing. Stuff your pillow with fiberfill or a pillow form, then sew the remaining opening closed.

Enjoy your plaid pillow on beautiful days.
