We are working today a simply adorable cactus, very easy and fun to make.
This Pattern is translated from the youtube channel video Lamas y evillos, you will find the original video tutorial here with written instructions.

You will need :
- Worsted weight yarn : 3 yarn colors : Grenn, purple, light brown and dark brown
- 2.75 mm Crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Stuffing
- Amigurumi eyes
Abréviations :
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- inc = increase ( 2 sc in the same stitch)
- dec = decrease ( sc2tog or invisible decrease)
- BLO = back loop only
- st/ sts = stitches
Cactus Amigurumi Free Pattern
Start with the Green Yarn :
- R1 : 6 single crochet in a magic ring (6)
- R2 : 1 inc around (12)
- R3 : *1 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (18)
- R4 : *2 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (24)
- R5 : *3 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (30)
- R6 : *4 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (36)
- R7 : *5 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (42)
- R8 – R14 : 1 sc crochet around (42)
- R15 : *5 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (36)
- R16 : *4 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (30)
- R17 : *3 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (24)
- R18 : *2 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (18)
Switch to Light brown :
- R19 : in BLO *2 sc, 1 in*, Repeat around (24)
- R20 : *3 sc, 1 inc* Repeat around (30)
- R21 : *4 sc, 1 inc* Repeat around (36)
- R22 : *5 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around, place the safety eyes (42)
Switch to dark brown :
- R23-R30 : 1 sc around (42)
- R31 : *5 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (36)
- R32 : 1 sc around (36)
- R33 : *4 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (30)
- R34 : 1 sc around (30)
- R35 : *3 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (24)
- R36 : 1 sc around (24)
- R37 : BLO *2 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around ,Stuff (18)
- R38 : *1 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (12)
- R39 : 6 dec
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sewing :
- Sew R19 with R26
Now to make the 2 extras balls on the cactus head we will crochet the following steps :
1 – Big ball :
- R1 :6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- R2 : 1 inc around (12)
- R3 : *1 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (18)
- R4 : *2 sc, 1 inc*, Repeat around (24)
- R5- R8 : 1 sc around (24)
- R9 : *2 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (18)
Fasten off and Stuff
2- Little ball :
- R1-R3 : Repeat R1 to R3 of the big ball (18)
- R4-R6 : 1 sc around (18)
- R9 : *2 sc, 1 dec*, Repeat around (18)
- R7 : *1 sc,1 dec* Repeat around (12)
Fasten off and stuff
3- Flower :
- R1 : 5 sc in a magic ring with the Yellow yarn
- In each sc do [ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, sl in the next sc] with Purple.
Sew or use glue to assemble all the pieces as shown in the picture
