Crochet shawl free pattern: Floral triangle

MATERIALS :

  • Yarn
    • Alize Angora Gold Batik (602 yards /550m per 3.53oz/100g skein/ball, 20% wool, 80% acrylic)
    • A: Multi color (code: 2970)
  • 2 mm crochet hook

How to care of your handmade items to last a lifetime:

  • Wash by hand with mild soap.
  • Do not wring
  • Spread on a horizontal surface.
  • Dry in the shade.
  • Keep the piece always folded and do not hang.

Gauge:

  • In Pattern Stitch, 21.0 sts = 4 inches

  • Ch = Chain(s)
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Tr = Treble Crochet

Special stitch instructions:

Treble crochet:

  • Yarn over the hook one time and insert your hook in the desired stitch, you should have 3 loops on your hook.
  • Yarn over the hook and draw your yarn through the first one loop on your hook, you should now have 3 loops on your hook.
  • Yarn over the hook and draw your yarn through the next two loops on your hook.
  • Yarn over the hook and draw your yarn through the last 2 loops on your hook.

Crochet Shawl Free Pattern

  • 1st Row: ch7 , sl st to the first ch to form a ring, ch3.
  • 2nd Row: 2 tr into the ring, ch2, 2 tr into the ring, ch3, 2 tr into the ring, ch2, 2 tr into the ring, ch3, turn.
  • 3rd Row: (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch1, pull up the loop on your hook
    • [back to video to understand this part clearly (at minute 1:35)], ch1, sc across this loop, dc in the next ch3 space from prev. row, ch1, dc in the same space, ch1, 17 yarn over the hook, yarn over for one more time and pull this loop down [back to video to understand this part clearly (at minute 2:36)], pull through all loops on the hook, ch1, sc in the ch1 space between 2dc, ch1, 17 yarn over, yarn over for one more time and pull this loop down, pull through all loops on the hook, ch1, sc in the ch1 space between 2dc, repeat * for 3 more times (total 5 petals),
    • ch1, pull up the loop on your hook (as above), ch1, sc across this loop, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch3, turn.
  • 4th Row: (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch1, pull up a loop on your hook, [ch1, sc across this loop, ch1] will be the center of the next flowers {name as X}, and pull up the loop on your hook, ch1, sc across this loop, ch1, sc across the center of the flower [back to video to understand this part clearly (at minute 7:30)], ch1, pull up the loop on your hook, ch1, sc across this loop, ch1, pull up the loop on your hook, ch1, sc across this loop, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the next ch2 space from prev. row, ch3, turn.
  • 5th Row: (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch1, pull up a loop on your hook, ch1, Sc across this loop, * [dc, ch1, dc] in the X place, [back to video to understand this part clearly (at minute 8:30)], ch1, 17 yarn over, yarn over for one more time and pull this loop down, yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook, ch1, sc in the ch1 space between 2dc, repeat ** for 4 more times, ch1, pull a loop on your hook, ch1, sc across this loop*, repeat * for one time, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch3, turn.
  • 6th Row: (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch1, (* pull a loop on your hook, ch1, sc across this loop, ch1, pull a loop on your hook, ch1, sc across this loop*, sc in the center of the next flower, ch1, repeat * for one more time, repeat from ** for one more time,
    • (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in the ch2 space from the prev. row, ch3, turn.

Continue with this sequence until reach the desired half-length then start decreasing to finish the shawl with one flower.


For example:

  • In row 7 it will be 3 X places to form 3 flowers in row 8.
  • In row 9 it will be 4 X places to form 4 flowers in row 10, continue with this sequence.
